TO TEACH BOXING IS OUR MISSION
BOXING AND ITS MISCONCEPTIONS
There is something special about the sport of boxing and the effects it has on anyone who has ever participated. On the surface, to the untrained eye, aggression, power, speed, and physical strength might some reasons they claim for victory. But below surface level, to the trained eye, their reasons for victory are deeper. Preparation, finesse, strategy, opportunity, skill and will are sometimes their answers. This being said, there is more to boxing than meets the eye. There is more to boxing than just basic human instincts. Boxing is where the mind and the body meet and are forced to think with reason.
WHAT WE LEARNED FROM BOXING
At TCB, the toughest opponent that we've ever had is ourselves and our thoughts. Sometimes doubts would creep into our mind and fester like a plague. Could we do it? Were we good enough? These were some of the doubts, but boxing taught us how to deal with them differently. Boxing taught us to question everything and remain calm to devise a plan for victory no matter the obstacles. Boxing taught us how to execute this plan and follow through on our convictions. but most of all, boxing taught us how take control and the champions of our lives.
HOW TO WIN
You see in boxing, winning isn't typically determined by who is bigger, stronger or faster, although it may seem like that at times. The winner is usually the person who is smarter and more prepared. To think, problem-solve, and live-at-peace knowing that we possess all the tools necessary to conquer challenges are some of the skills that we learned as a result of participating in this sport. But most of all, we learned how to defeat our biggest rival; ourselves.
